Christian Diener GmbH employs a workforce of just under 70.
2006
Chr. Diener expands in step with the continuing growth in the field of orthopaedics, now employing a workforce of over 40; an extension is constructed to accommodate additional CNC machines; the company focuses on custom production for bone surgery.
2001
The company enters its fourth generation of Diener family management with the addition of Carolin Baur, Helmut Diener’s oldest daughter; her husband Michael Baur takes over technical management one year later.
2000
Over 200 guests celebrate the 100-year jubilee of the company Chr. Diener.
1990s
With the advent of CNC technology, Diener produces an ever greater proportion of customized articles from the field of bone surgery on a contract manufacture basis.
1974
Diener flourishes, moving into new 1200 sq.m. premises in Rudolf-Diesel-Straße; in response to the growing demand for Diener non-standard products, the focus of production shifts from standard to special-purpose instruments.
1969
Three years after the death of his father Otto, Helmut Diener takes over the reins of management.
1954
Chr. Diener is the first company in Europe to produce and market surgical instruments tipped with the durable carbide WIDIA. The response is so positive that a WIDIA range comprising needle holders, tweezers and forceps is introduced under the name “Diener Spezial”.
1945
Following temporary closure during the war, Diener resumes production of surgical instruments – initially with a staff of just three.
1938
Christian Diener‘s son Otto takes over commercial management following the death of his father, brother Max takes over responsibility for production.
1927
Christian Diener becomes acquainted with BMW designer Eberwein, who had developed a new kind of engine. Christian Diener succeeds in engaging Eberwein’s interest in providing finance for a second company. A limited liability company is founded trading as Eberwein & Diener Motorenbau GmbH.
1900
In Tuttlingen in Germany’s southwest, Christian Diener founds a company of the same name, specializing in the production of instruments for urology and ear, nose and throat medicine.
